Grandparenting is not easy  —  especially in the world of the 21st century.  Yet, that is when the Lord has called each of us to step into this amazing senior role within our families.  We can be the matriarch or patriarch that He destined us to be only by His grace and power.  As the aging disciple, John, stated in 2 John 4, it is a great joy to us for our children and grandchildren to walk in the truth.  But we have an Enemy whose goal is to steal their hearts, minds and very lives.  It is critical for each of us grandparents to join the army of seniors and pray diligently for the children and grandchildren in the ranks behind us.  Will you fall to your knees today, and use the mighty weapon of prayer that God has given us to defeat the Enemy.

Dear Lord Jesus,

I come to you today and lift to you each of my children and grandchildren.  These loved ones are precious to me.  But I know they are even more adored by You, their Lord and Savior.  Please bless them with good health, sound minds, healthy emotions and loving hearts towards You, their families and friends.  Guide and guard them in this challenging world such that each one comes to know You intimately, love You passionately and serve You faithfully all the days of their lives. Equip me to be the Godly grandparent You envisioned when You created me.  May I always love them as You love them, understand them as You understand them and view them as You view them.  When difficult times arise, Lord, help me always to remember that You have all the answers for You are greater than anything we, or our children or grandchildren, will ever face.  And when the time comes for each of them to leave this earth, Lord, please bring them home to You so that we may live together eternally.

Lord Jesus, now I lift up to you each of my grandchildren and grown children. (Please pray for each grandchild and grown child including thanksgiving for this child and any concerns you may have for this person).

All this I ask in Your precious and powerful Name, Jesus!
Amen

“Pour out your heart like water in the presence of the Lord.  Lift up your hands to Him for the lives of your children ….”

Lamentations 2:19
